 Creative photographer  Shawn Culmer has changed the industry not only as a young innovator and educator but as an eager to learn student of photography.

He surpasses the average point and click photographer and has brought his own flare and creativity to the world of photography .

Bahamain born and raised , Shawn feels that there is no place like home.

Shawn's work has appeared on numerous platforms. From editorials to book covers, magazines, billboards and other digital media.

He has been  behind the lens for 11 years creating memories that will last a lifetime. Trusting love behind the lens, the smiles in every click, whilst understanding the body language between clients in every shot.

He has chosen a life of photography because of the passion that burns within and the ongoing enhancements that come from the profession.

1. How long was Black Gates Films & Photography in operation?

  • Black Gates Films &  Photography has been in operation since 2011.

2. What is the turnaround time for images after a photoshoot?

  • Portraits: 5 working days

    • Prints: 3 days after client's selection

  • Headshots: 1-3 working days 

    • Prints: 3 days after client's selection

  • Weddings: 4-6 weeks from date of approval

    • Prints: 5-10 days after releasing online gallery

  • Small Corporate or Special Events: 5 working days

    • Prints: 3 days after client's selection​

3. What if I need to reschedule?

  • Rescheduling can take place within 4 weeks of a canceled session.

4. What forms of payment do you accept?

  • We accept online bank transfers, credit card payments and cash. 

​

5.  How far in advance should I book ?

  • Some couples book as far as 1 year  in advance to ensure they get the photographer and vendors they really want for their wedding. I will sometimes receive as many as 10 inquires for a single date.

6. Do you deliver RAW files?

  • I shoot and edit every session in RAW to ensure the maximum amount of exposure and color information

is available for my editing; however, I deliver edited and finish high resolution JPEG files and do not include

RAW files with my packages. If you are extremely interested in having the raw files these are available with an 

additional fee and agreement.
